Logs Wanted

As a professional sawyer, I specialize in transforming logs that would otherwise end up as firewood into valuable, usable slabs, lumber, or beams. If you have trees that deserve more than being burned or left to decay, we can make the most out of them.

Log Evaluation

Before you toss those logs aside, reach out to me. I’ll assess your logs for factors like species, size, and condition. Not every log is suitable for high-quality lumber, but many could be turned into beautiful slabs or beams, perfect for furniture or woodworking projects.

  • Species like walnut, oak, maple, cherry, and ash are often in high demand.

  • Logs should be relatively straight, free of rot, and have a minimum diameter to ensure good yields.

Market Value for In-Demand Logs

If your logs are of a desirable species and in good condition, they might have value. While you won’t get rich, I offer fair, market-based compensation for quality logs. Species like walnut or white oak often fetch higher prices, especially if the logs are large and in good shape.

  • Example logs that hold value: Black walnut, cherry, figured maple (with unique grain patterns), large straight oak, or reclaimed barn beams.

  • I will inspect and offer market value for logs that I can use or resell.

Turning Logs into Usable Lumber

Once the logs are evaluated, I use professional-grade sawmill equipment to mill them into slabs, beams, or dimensional lumber. The process includes:

  • Slabbing: Ideal for creating stunning live-edge pieces, perfect for tables, countertops, or mantles.

  • Lumber Milling: Logs can be cut into boards of various dimensions for furniture building, flooring, or cabinetry.

  • Beam Milling: Large logs can be sawn into structural beams or mantels for building projects.

Custom Milling Services

If you have logs and want to turn them into something special but don’t want to sell them outright, I offer custom milling services. I can turn your logs into usable lumber for your projects. You’ll be able to preserve the unique character of your wood while giving it a second life as furniture, flooring, or even beams for a home.

Timber Trade

If you’re interested in keeping some of the wood for your own projects, we can arrange a fair trade. Whether you’re looking to build your own furniture, need beams for construction, or want a custom slab for a home project, I’m flexible in working out deals where you get a portion of the finished lumber or slabs in exchange for your logs.
